Stand Install Shows Very Poor Craftsmanship – John J. Malone –
I haven’t watched my new TV yet. The reason, in part, is that the installation of the stand is ridiculous. I suppose we just need to adjust to lousy machining these days, but when you have a 40lb plus piece of electronics being inserted into a plastic stand with metal screws AT THE VERY LEAST the screws and screw mounts should be well-machined.

Samsung saved maybe 20 cents by machining the bottom of this set too cheaply. The crews simply WILL NOT drill int the mount. If you are going to have this TV sit in its stand, your are going to have a dangerously wobbly TV set.

Samsung’s record profits are not going to last with the kind of machining that screams old school Korea.
